“And I love you too you big softy.” Quinn lightly teased, kissing Santana’s forehead tenderly. She hummed contentedly at the moment, hoping that it would never have to end. Hoping that she could just stay in Santana’s embrace where she felt safe.
However she knew that wast possible.
“As much as I adore this I have some math homework that I absolutely have to get done.” Quinn pouted, pulling back slightly. “And my Dad will go spare if I don’t get it done, especially with college looming and everything.” She sighed, standing up and smoothing out her clothes.
Santana grumbled in protest but allowed Quinn to step away from the warm embrace. She sighed and nodded in understanding, remembering she had homework due for Monday as well.
“Okay,” She mumbled, kissing Quinn one last time before stepping away for good. “I better get back home.” She turned to leave, but not before asking for one last thing. “Oh! And please bring in some cake on school?” She grinned, before waving and leaving.
Quinn sighed before resting her head on Santana’s shoulder. “Fine… Just don’t expect me to like him anytime soon.” She grumbled, her face set in a frown.“Promise me you’ll tell me the next time he’s being an ass to you. I just don’t like always being the last one to find out things about you. I feel like I’m out of the loop” She asked Santana, wrapping her arms around the girl and holding her tight.
“Of course, ” Santana whispered, snaking her arms around Quinn to bring her closer. She loved moments like those, where they were just stood or sat and cuddled up to each other, arms wrapped round the other, no talking, just their steady heart beats and gentle breathing. “I hate to break the silence but I thought I’d let you know that I love you. I say that an awful lot but I feel as if I don’t say it nearly enough.” Santana chuckled, nuzzling her face in Quinns soft hair.
Quinn frowned, feeling herself get a little irritated and the godforsaken jock.
“Why didn’t you tell me this?” She asked, slightly annoyed that she’d had to find out from a random anon. “He’s such an ass. Why won’t he just back the hell off?” She grumbled before biting into her cake.
“It never came up,” Santana shrugged casually, continuing to eat the cake. “Hey, listen. Don’t get upset. He’s a douche, who is jealous of what we have. Don’t waste your time and energy getting mad at him, okay?” She reassured Quinn, putting down her cake to embrace the girl.
“He’ll go away eventually. He’s just trying to provoke a reaction.”
Thank you. You’re always so sweet to me..
I’m just telling the truth, Q.

“His impressions aren’t that bad…” Quinn tried to defend Sam, shrugging slightly. “He does a mean Jacob from Twilight.” She nodded before biting into her cake.
“But you’re right.. They do look oddly similar.” She mused, grimacing.
“What… What about Puck? He still bugging you?”
Santana bit into her cake, moaning at the heavenly taste.”This is good.” She pointed to the cake in her hand.
“Um…not as much as before. Still tries to text and call me. And Facebook message me. And tweet me. His messages always start out nice, like ‘Oh, I miss you so much baby, you’re beautiful, I need you, I love you xxx’ but I ignore them, so after a while they turn to ‘Fuck you, you dirty whore. Go die, I don’t need you’ then, the next day, it’s back to beginning. It’s an endless cycle.” Santana shrugged.
“Did you just Taylor Swift me?” Quinn asked incredulously as she cut a large slab of cake for Santana. “You’re so soppy.” She smiled down at the cake, feeling her heart beat faster even now when Santana complemented her.
“How’s Britt lately? I haven’t spoken to her in a while..” Quinn asked, grabbing some plates for the two of them, starting up a conversation. “The last i saw she was warming up to Sam.”
“I guess I just did,” Santana smiled lopsidedly, sticking out her tongue at Quinn. “I know right?! What happened to hard, badass Santana? You changed me, Fabray.” Santana joked, bopping her on the nose.
“Ugh, I know. She could have guy, or girl, she wanted, and she goes for the dumb guy who does crappy impressions and looks weirdly like her. If you ask me, it’s a bit incestuous. But as long as Britt’s happy…I can’t dictate who she dates.”
Expecting a decision from Yale and UCB soon about my application.
I feel like I’m just sat twiddling my thumbs…
Please…You know you’re gonna get in to at least one of those…probably both.

Quinn rolled her eyes before chuckling.
“Of course it is. All the best things are.” She joked, winking at Santana before picking up another chocolate chip and popping it into her mouth.
“Might I say your cake looks amazing. I really want to eat it now.” She hummed happily, eying up the cake.
“Want a bit?”
“Like you? You’re gay…and the best thing that’s ever been mine.” Santana replied seriously, turning back to her cake after realising she had been staring at the blonde far too long.
“Why thank you! Your’s too! I would love a piece.” Santana nodded, stepping back to allow Quinn to cut the cake. “Can I have an extra big bit, pleaaaase?” She begged, grinning goofily.
“We can offer you blue, green, red and white. What’s your poison?” Quinn asked, holding up the tubes full of the icing she’d prepared.
She smiled at Santana, kissing her on the cheek before looking back down at her half. She hummed in thought for a second before getting to work, icing on her initials, ‘L.Q.F.’
She took a handful of sprinkles and arranged them in a rainbow, curling around her half of the cake.
“Sprinkles rock.”
“Hmm…red. My favourite colour, the devil color.” Santana replied as she picked up the icing. She iced her half, her tongue sticking out in concentration. She noticed the initials and decided to do the same, swapping icing to ice S.L in white icing.
“Quinn…even your cake half is gay.”
Quinn shook her head at the action, trying to stifle a laugh. “You’re such a dork sometimes.”
She smiled and took the chocolate chip, humming happily. “Chocolate is God’s gift to humanity.” She all but moaned, popping a few more into her mouth.
“Okay! You take this half, I’ll take this one. Let’s see what we can do here Lopez.” She drew an imaginary line down the middle of the cake before picking up some of the blue icing.
Santana chuckled and playfully punched Quinn on the arm.
“You love dorky Santana.” She laughed, smiling lopsidedly. “Okay. I haven’t decorated in ages so this may turn out awfully…” Santana watched as Quinn iced her half. “What other colours do you have?”
Quinn pulled back, gasping slightly. “Yes! Cake! Come with.” She announced, grabbing Santana’s hand and all but pulling her up and into the kitchen.
She reached up and got the icing sugar, preparing to make it quickly.
“We have chocolate chips, sprinkles and colored icing. It’s gonna get messy.” She winked, chuckling to herself.
“What do you wanna do?”
Santana looked over the decorations before pointing to the sprinkles.
“I’m obsessed with sprinkles!” She explained as she grabbed the pot. She shook it a few times, smiling goofily.
“Here.” Santana reached over and picked up the chocolate chips. She pulled one out and popped it into Quinn’s mouth, before doing the same for herself.
Quinn nodded, finally understanding what was going on.
“Ahh… Okay.” She bot her lip, thinking of how to carry on. “Well, that’s where the trust comes in. Sure, it’s gonna be hard and it’s gonna test us. And I mean really test us. But if you trust that I won’t go off with another girl and I trust that you won’t.. Well then that’s all we can do.” She shrugged, squeezing Santana’s hand.
“As for looking at other women. Well… There’s a big difference between finding somebody attractive and being attracted to someone. So I guess I won’t be too upset if you..” Quinn stopped to find the right phrase, “Window shop from time to time.” She smirked before chuckling slightly. “Because I know that you’re not gonna do anything about it.”
Santana nodded, wrapping her arms around Quinn. She cuddled into her, suddenly feeling way more relaxed than before.
“Hmmm,” Santana hummed in agreement. “Okay. You’re so good at comforting, you know that?” She chuckled, squeezing her gently. “Ooh! We need to decorate the cake!”
“Santana…” Quinn sighed. “We’ve talked about this. I’m not going anywhere. Well… I am. But not mentally. I’m with you and I don’t plan on changing that, okay.” She tried to assure the girl.
She wondered if Santana would fully understand what she was saying or ever fully believe it. With the looks of how the past few weeks had played out, she highly doubted she ever would.
“I know. I never said that…I just…Long distance relationships are always hard. And we’re both young and we’re gonna be surrounded by temptation every day. I’d feel guilty just looking at another woman.”
Santana shrugged, leaning into Quinn and resting her head on her shoulder.
“Well that’s nice of your Mom.” Quinn smiled before holding her hands up in defense. “No! No… Just.. I don’t know. It’s brave what you’re doing. Like going out in the world, making it on your own.” She shrugged, awkwardly fiddling with her fingers.
“It’s risky. But that’s where we differ. I mean you’re more adventurous with this kind of thing. I just hope it all goes well for you.”
“Yeah, well I have to start being an adult sometime, right? I’m sick of just taking the safe route. I’ve done that too many times now.” Santana grabbed Quinn’s hands to stop the fiddling.
“Yeah, I guess. I think the part I’m scared of most isn’t being in an unfamiliar place by myself, but…losing you.”
Quinn’s eyebrows shot up at Santana’s confession. That was.. risky.
“That’s… You seem to have it all planned out. And y’know what, I believe in you. You can do it. Have you cleared it with your parents yet?” She asked cautiously, not wanting to hear any bad news.
“What?” Santana asked, one eyebrow raising in confusion. She narrowed her eyes and withdrew her hands. “No. They don’t want me to go. Well…my mom does, but my dad…he doesn’t. But, it’s…whatever. You know? I’ll be old enough to look after myself, and my mom promised she’d give me money without my dad knowing.”
“You seem pretty…shocked?”
